Random Thoughts..

I have so many questions in mind.. I can't be straight forward and publicly blog about it cause it involves someone special and dear to my heart.. anyway I feel so sad cause I know he put so much love into his work and something like this happens... on a brighter side I have wanting him to move to a different developer anyways since last year and he believed in his current developer so much.. but with the system that commission is not prorated i feel the pinch of price increasing everywhere in everything and budgeting has become a challenge.

An old adage that we keep saying is the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.. with this situation I believe that NOW is the right time to move.  And whatever decision he makes he has my 101% support and love.. as always...

I love you so much.. through our ups and downs .. we will face them together ♥

Throwback ♥ DIY Filipiniana Costume

Last month's Buwan Ng Wika Celebration in Missha's school ♥ Yuph another DIY costume made by yours truly ♥ This took me a while to make hahaha... but I was happy with the outcome it looked nice and clean... The salakot was bought by Hubby in Carbon while the shell necklaces and fan I bough in Gaisano Country Mall (the mall near my workplace).. diba so cute ♥ Teacher loved her costume and other parents admired it which made me really super proud ♥

Throwback ♥ DIY Headdress

Super sorry for the bad image quality I have no idea why my phone camera when I took these photos gave me horrible image quality (moist in the cam almost which made it really blurred).. anyway this photo was taken back in June for Nutrition Month.  My daughter was asked to bring her own headdress with photos of vegetables and fruits.. i improvised and made it all 3D fruits and vegetables ♥ Yup yup yup she won best in headdress ♥ ♥ ♥

DIY Hula Skirt ♥

Okay so I miserably failed with the 30 day blog challenge.. i just can't do it. Ibang iba na talaga unlike before I had so much time to blog about almost anything and everything.. while now even if I keep reminding myself the daily blog challenge I just don't have time to do it.. so enough of the challenge LOL!

So what made me really busy? Hmm you see I am a full time working regular employee + trying hard to be hands on mommy + dedicated wife. So really its work and my family which really keeps me busy and I think thats normal naman diba? Being the doting mother and DIY addict that I am .. I have decided to make my daughter's UN Culmination costume as early as now.. I made her a Hula Skirt to represent Hawaii or French Polynesia (whichever).. hula skirt, pompons, garlands and flower crown is done. I just have to make the sash and the flag. UN Culmination is celebrated every October right? And in Missha's school culmination activity is every Friday of the month but I pressured myself to do it and finish it as early as now because Missha's 2nd Periodic Exams are scheduled middle of October and I want to be able to focus in reviewing with her.. reason why I made sure that even before the exam week the planned DIY UN costume is done and out of the way.

I would like to share with you my latest DIY project made with soooo much love and passion hehe.. my daughter's HULA SKIRT ♥ ♥ ♥

Voila ♥ I feel so accomplished and happy looking at it.. my labor of love..
It took me 2 1/2 days to put it all together.. how? here's what I did.

First, I searched online for hula skirt inspirations and saw tons on pinterest and google images. After I found that inspiration I used my imagination and creativity to decide on which colors I will be using and settled with Yellow and Orange (since she had a bikini top with the same colors to match with).  Once the idea was all set in my mind off I went to stores to get the materials needed.

Materials:
1. Duraflex Twine - bought in Gaisano Country Mall. Picked color yellow (43.00 per big roll). Bought 4 rolls but only used 2 1/2 rolls.

2. Elastic Band - bought the 1/2 thick (6.50 per meter). Bought one meter but used only half.

3. Thread and Needle. - Yellow thread (7.00 per small roll) Needle (1.00 from local store).

4. Artificial Flowers- Yellow and Orange color combination for the Hula Skirt waist. (39.00 per stem with 5 flowers in Unitop Store)

5. Artifical Flowers - Assorted colors for the garland. (50.00 for pack of 30 flowers)

6. Small Artificial Flowers - Yellow and Orange color combination for the flower crown (69.00 from Gaisano Country Mall)

7. Brush or comb.

These are the things that I used in making the skirt and how this is how I pulled it together:

Cut the duraflex twines with the correct length.

get the correct waist measurement of the garter
and keep in mind a little extra for allowance.

Once this is all set use a chair for the garter ensure that the chair is not too big and make the garter all loosen up.. ensure that the measurement of the garter is ok. Then attach the twines to the garter using the cow hitch knot. Once the twines are knotted to the elastic band completely use a brush or comb and comb the twines to make it look nicer, fluffler and finer. Now the reason why i used a thicker elastic band is because it looks nicer with the cow hitch knot and it's also flatter meaning - its more comfortable to wear.

Once the skirt is done it's time to accessorize it.  Bring on the flowers and start arranging them nicely on the waist part of the skirt and secure it by sewing it.  Use variations of flowers to make it nicer and put the flowers on the front and back waist part of the skirt to make it look neat and nice front and back. Once done voila.. you have your DIY Hula skirt.

For the garland and the flower crown you just want to put them together and make it nice and that's it. I also made little pompoms for my daughter to complete the ensemble. For the pompoms I used the same method except I used an orange ribbon instead of an elastic band..

flower crown and hawaiian garland ♥

I am so proud of myself for having done these costume and pieces for Missha.. to be honest I cant wait to see my baby in school wearing my creation hehe...

Mommy's I hope I was able to give you an idea on how to make a hula skirt for your little one.. not only is is more practical, but more creative and unique as well and I am sure with lots of love into your work your baby will stand out ♥

My Favorite Movie

Have you guys seen the movie entitled "Heaven Is For Real?" This movie is actually a novel which was published in November 2010 and written by Lynn Vincent, Sonja and Todd Burpo. Then on April 2014 they initially released the movie.

The reason why I love this movie is because it sharpened my faith.  Once the movie started playing as in hindi ko maalis sarili ko sa harap ng TV talaga super ganda.. maybe i was emotionally into the movie because I am a mother and wife just like the character of the mom in the movie and my children mean the world to me.

The story was about a boy who got really ill and had to undergo surgery, he wasn't really doing well that he died while on the Operating Table and came back to life.  Once he was back he started talking about how he met the Angels in Heaven and God and everybody thought it was ridiculous.. but towards the end of the movie everyone's faith sharpened narin.

If you haven't seen this movie I say watch it.  And watch it with your family.. you heart will be touched by it.

I Miss Blogging

I really missed doing this... i miss having this space online where I can express my thoughts through writing. There are days when you feel that facebook and instagram have become too mainstream and you feel the need to go back to your roots, to your original sounding board, to that space where only quite a few really take a peek. Today is one of those days and I never felt so guilty to have foresaken one thing I love doing the most - blogging.

I have to say that it was Sis Yesha ♥ who made me start this blog again when she posted this on my facebook wall:

To be honest, I super miss blogging.  I actually have a blog right now (on private mode though) so here I am starting a new "public" blog.. hehe.  Before my blog was about myself.. it focussed on fashion, make up, girlyness, gadgets, and gossips LOL this time around (since I've matured somehow after 6 years of marriage and two babies) this blog will focus on my journey in marriage and motherhood. ♥

So join me in this exciting journey of mine and together lets make life fabulous ♥

Hello!

Hmm.. that doesn’t really sound like a groundbreaking to start a blog.  How do you start one anyway? Well, let me just tell you WHY.. as a wife and mother, I sometimes feel like the days just pass by too quickly (wait, what day is it now anyways?!).  So, this blog will serve as a break from my hectic schedule (feeding, changing diapers, watching cartoons, and working in the office..) A little “ME” time of sorts where I can share my thoughts (before I go insane!), my experiences (lots of firsts!), and anythings and everything in between.
Join me as I write about my life as a working wife and trying-hard-to-be-hands-on-mommy to my 2 wonderful babies despite my career demands (being part of Management in a Hotel here in Cebu).  Together, let’s make life and motherhood fabulous!
